What is privacy? In the world I ruled, there was no such thing as privacy. I wanted to be aware of everything that is happening. Whether it was with actions, or just a talk, I needed to know and did know everything that went on in Oceania. That is why I placed telescreens and mics everywhere to know how the members are acting. I didn't care about the proles yet, they were still being watched. I made everyone believe that they were the only ones not being watched owning the fact that the proles were animals with no rightful owner. I wanted to see if they took advantage of the “privilege” they had of not having telescreens everywhere in their sight, but hidden behind the walls without them knowing. I really didn’t support the fact that the Inner Party had the privilege to turn off their telescreen for a short period of time. For what reason would they turn it off? To commit a crime? NO ONE should, because there should’ve been nothing to hide whatsoever. For all that, technology has changed over the years as I have remained in control over Oceania. There are is no such thing as privacy still. Telescreens have gone out of use however we now have cameras and mics that are less noticeable to Oceania, Eastasia, and Eurasia. I, Big Brother, now allow anyone to choose who they want to be with and be intimate. Like I have states before, there is no privacy still. A few days ago, a woman discovered a video camera in her bedroom. It turned that the device was recording her during her intimate moments. I did not have control over that video camera yet someone else did. The government can listen to anyones phone call, bring up anyone’s text messages, photos, etc. The reason behind all this is to make sure no one rebels against the government. Although things have changed, the control over the information that the government produces has not. China and North Korea changes their history information as well. They do not alternate it but hide it from the rest of the world. As this happened in the year of 1984, the Ministry of Truth was wiping out all history that claimed that Oceania was at war with Eurasia and was in alliance with Eastasia. In spite the fact that  things have changed over the years I am still watching!
